The Lakeland Community Concert Association will host American singer and actor Franc D’Ambrosio on Saturday at the Rodeheaver Auditorium in Winona Lake.
D’Ambrosio first stepped into the Broadway scene in the revival of “Sweeney Todd.” He is best known for his role in the stage production of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s “Phantom of the Opera.” D’Ambrosio has received extensive studies in vocal performance, including studying with Luciano Pavarotti at his home in Italy.
“He used to be referred to as Mr. Phantom since he’s done the most performances as the Phantom,” said Grant Magner, president of the Lakeland Community Concert Association. D’Ambrosio’s show is a part of the Reciprocity Concert series, a showcase of nearly 20 local shows available by subscription. Shows in the Reciprocity Concert Series can be found in Munster, LaPorte, Portage and Warsaw.
“We were lucky to get him to perform, his agent is a local from Warsaw who graduated from high school in the area,” Magner said.
Magner believes that the community of northwest Indiana will enjoy D’Ambrosio, “He’s a wonderful singer. We get the opportunity to hear a Broadway singer without going to Broadway.”
Season subscription passes to the Reciprocity Concert series are $75 per adult and $15 for school-age children. If interested in a season pass for only the Lakeland Community Concert Association, the cost is $45. Single tickets are sold the night of the show and cost $20 for adults. Cash and check will be accepted. For more information on the Reciprocity Concert Series, call 219-362-5292.
